Frequently Asked Questions About Our Support Services
Please reach us at judesparentproject@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
What Sets Us Apart in Autism Support?
Most autism services focus on the child. We focus on the caregiver because, without a supported parent, services for the child are not sustainable. Our model addresses caregiver burnout directly by providing practical, in-home support that families cannot access through traditional systems. It is a complementary, not duplicative, approach that fills a critical gap.
How Are Families Selected for Support?
Families are selected based on demonstrated caregiver need, caregiving intensity, and household stress factors. Priority is given to families facing high supervision demands or safety concerns. Services are provided regardless of ability to pay, ensuring equitable access.
How Do We Measure Impact?
Caregiver self-assessments, service utilization tracking, and satisfaction surveys are used to measure reductions in stress and burnout. Household stability indicators and ongoing family feedback are also tracked. These metrics allow us to demonstrate measurable, funder-relevant outcomes.
How Many Families Do We Reach?
We intentionally scale responsibly. Our pilot serves a defined cohort of families, with expansion planned in phases as funding allows. This approach ensures service quality while building a model that can grow across San Bernardino County and eventually Southern California and beyond.
Is Our Model Sustainable?
Yes. The sustainability plan includes diversified funding through grants foundations, corporate partners, individual donors, and in-kind support. The program is designed to be cost-effective, scalable, and supported by outcome data that strengthens renewal funding.
How is Funding Managed?
All funds are tracked by program category, with clear internal controls and fiscal oversight. Services are delivered through vetted providers, and expenses are reviewed regularly to ensure alignment with program goals and funder requirements.
Why Support Caregivers Over Therapy?
Therapies are critical, but they are ineffective if caregivers are overwhelmed or burned out. By stabilizing the home and supporting the caregiver, we create the conditions necessary for therapies and services to succeed. Supporting caregivers strengthens every other intervention.
How Do We Complement Existing Services?
Services are intentionally non-clinical and non-duplicative. Practical, everyday needs that are rarely funded or provided elsewhere are addressed, making this work complementary to existing medical, educational, and therapeutic services.
What Happens After Support Ends?
The goal is not dependency, but stability. Families receive services during critical periods to prevent burnout, with a focus on building sustainable routines and community connections. Many families transition out with improved resilience and capacity.
What is the Long-Term Impact?
By preventing caregiver burnout, family crisis is reduced, households are stabilized, and healthier long-term outcomes for children are supported. This model creates generational impact by strengthening families today while redefining how caregivers are supported over time.
Beyond Funding: How Can Partners Help?
The greatest challenge is meeting growing demand while maintaining quality. Funding allows responsible expansion, consistent service delivery, and sustained infrastructure needed to achieve impact.
Our Vision for 3–5 Years
Success means a stable, scalable program serving families across San Bernardino County, strong outcome data demonstrating reduced caregiver burnout, and a model that can be replicated in other communities.
How Can You Support Us?
Investment is sought to directly fund in-home caregiver support services that prevent burnout and strengthen families raising autistic children. Support creates immediate relief and long-term impact.
